The Coronavirus or Covid-19 pandemic is expected to be over by mid to late 2022 at
the earliest and 2023 at the latest.
Things should
be back to normal by 2024.
Or there
might be other viruses and other pandemics.

Oilmen threaten to destroy wildlife habitat
Arctic
National Wildlife Refuge (ANWR)
Alaska
The Arctic National Wildlife Refuge is in the
northeast corner of Alaska.
The ANWR is bordered
by native tribal lands, state land and federal land in the U. S. and
by First Nations (native tribal) lands, crown
property and provincial lands in Canada.

and destruction, which have been the fate of those in forest sections of the country.' 1908 sketch.
Oilmen have wanted to drill
in the refuge since 1977. In
2017, the US Congress approved President Donald Trump's legislation to begin drilling for oil in the refuge. Trump
sold leases in the refuge to oil companies on 6 January
2021. On 27 January 2021, the new president, Joe Biden, ordered
a TEMPORARY halt of 60 days to leasing land and drilling for oil in the refuge. He requested studies of the possible effects of
drilling on the environment. The 60 days up and, on 26
May 2021, Biden approved Trump's plan for drilling by ConocoPhillips.

Biden cancels Trump drilling leases in Alaska's largest wildlife refuge
By Max Matza
BBC News, Seattle
6 September 2023
US President Joe Biden's administration has cancelled oil and gas leases in an Alaskan wildlife refuge.
The interior department said revoking the drilling leases granted under ex-President Donald Trump would preserve 13 million
acres of wilderness.
The refuge is home to grizzly and polar bears, caribou and migratory birds - and an estimated 11bn barrels of oil.
The decision would protect the Arctic National Wildlife Refuge, he said, and honour "the culture, history, and enduring
wisdom of Alaska Natives who have lived on these lands since time immemorial".
But Mr Biden has not reversed his recent approval of an $8bn (£6.4bn) drilling project in the same region.

Pope
Francis visits Iraq
5 - 8 March
2021 Thomas, one of the Twelve Apostles of Jesus Christ, and
Thaddeus of Edessa, a disciple of Jesus (one of 70 or 72), brought Christianity to Iraq 2,000 years ago, in the first century
A. D. Iraq's Orthodox Syriac Church is one of the oldest in the world.
Until 2003, there were an estimated 500,000 to 1.5 million Christians in Iraq.
Since then, most of Iraq's
Christians fled to Kurdistan to escape mass killings and destruction.
By some accounts, only 150,000 Christians remain in Iraq.
On 20 December 2020, the Vatican announced that Pope Francis would visit Iraq for four days, from 5 to 8 March
2021.
Pope Francis is the first pontiff in history to visit Iraq.
The Pope was invited by the Iraqi
government and the various Catholic churches of Iraq, particularly the Chaldean Church - and the Syriac
Catholic, Latin, Maronite, Greek Catholic, Coptic, and Armenian churches.
Despite a surge of terrorism and a new wave of Covid-19
cases in Iraq, the
Pope insisted on making the trip:
