Pfizer primary and booster shots are not enough to protect against infection.
A second booster - a third shot - is required.
The second booster does not protect sufficiently against infection but it reduces symptoms so death is less likely and

A fourth shot is required. A Covid vaccine against the Delta and Omicron variants should be ready by March 2022.

Thailand
The Omicron variant of the Covid-19 virus raged throughout Thailand in the first months of 2022.
The rate of daily new cases and daily new deaths skyrocketed to all-time high, must higher than ever before.
Yet, at the same time, a horde of tourists arrived in Bangkok.
According to the Thai government, from January to mid-May, 1.01 million visitors arrived. There were only 427,000 tourists
in all of 2021.
Bars, closed since February 2020, reopened in June and July.
Arriving and departing travellers no longer require a vaccination card. They need only present a recent negative Covid
test. (That, too, might not be required any more.)
Everything changed in the last week of July.
Department stores opened their side doors. All entrances and exits are open for the first time since February 2020.
Masks are no longer required in many places.
Temperature testing is no longer conducted in most places.
Most barbers are back in their shops.

FACTS AND FIGURES
Throughout the Covid-19 pandemic, people have watched the statistics posted daily by Worldometer, a website that has tracked
the pandemic through statistics gathered from various sources. The site lists figures and displays graphs.
However, the details must be taken with a grain of salt.
For instance, the figures show the U. S. with the most deaths by Covid-19, far more than any other country - twice as
many as India, which is second in line. The figures for the U. S. may be accurate. The U. S. has the most modern and most
accurate techniques for collecting details. It has some of the best medical care. India is a Third World country with a huge
population, poor medical services, and inferior means of collecting data. The figures collected by Worldometer for India are
probably very incomplete.
Like India, China and Russia are leading industrial producers, but they are actually Third World countries and their figures
for Covid-19 are probably very incomplete.
Unless the U. S. has really gone to the dogs in the past forty years, India and China have had the most deaths by Covid-19
by far. India and China have probably had two to three times more deaths than indicated.

According to Worldometer, there were seven waves of reported daily new deaths. The seventh wave was the smallest - and
peaked on 3 August with 2,863 reported new deaths.
The highest wave, the third, peaked on January 20, 2021 with 16,742 reported new deaths on that day.

Covid infection rates have been rising across China following the recent easing of strict lockdown measures.
This loosening of controls came after widespread protests against the restrictions.
Before the recent relaxation of restrictions, China had one of the toughest anti-Covid regimes in the world - known as
its zero-Covid policy.
The measures included:
Strict lockdowns imposed by local authorities - even if only a handful of Covid cases found
Mass testing in places where cases reported
People with Covid isolated at home, or placed under quarantine at government facilities
Businesses and schools closed in lockdown areas
Shops closed - except for those selling food
Lockdowns continuing until no new infections reported
This meant tens of millions of people were living under some kind of lockdown.
Some local authorities took extreme measures, such as forcing workers to sleep inside factories so they could work while
quarantined.
